LIFE Grace will be a guest on Thursday 3 November, starting at 9 am in Santa Sofia (FC) at the initial conference of the LIFE ShepForBio project.
The conference is promoted by Slow Food Italy, the Casentinesi Forest National Park, Monte Falterona and Campagna, Romagna Acque - Società delle Fonti and Legambiente Italia. It is organized as part of the two-day event, "Oltreterra - New sustainable economies for the communities of the Italian mountains ".
The first day of November 3 will be an opportunity to discuss the role of breeders as custodians of the territory and the policies for the development and enhancement of mountain areas. In addition to LIFE Grace, other European projects financed by the LIFE programme will be presented, such as LIFE Xerograzing, LIFE Drylands, LIFE Gestire 2020, LIFE Pastoralp, and many others. The day will be full of discussion and exchanges of experiences and best practices developed under each project on the management and restoration of the grasslands, The Tuscany and the Emilia-Romagna regions, Rewilding Apennines, and the Autochthonous Flora Center of Lombardy, will also be present to discuss the restoration of grasslands; APPIA - Italian Pastoral Network during the session dedicated to pastoral schools.
The next day will be dedicated to the theme "Regenerating the mountains to tackle the climate crisis" and will be organized a series of thematic tables regarding forest agreements, chestnut groves, active tourism in protected areas and many others.
