On 3rd and 4th December 2025, LIFE GRACE will attend the LIFE Platform Meeting on the future of Europe’s Agri-Food sector, organized by the ELMEN Group, which provides external monitoring services for LIFE projects, and hosted by the University of Bologna (coordinator of the IMAGE-LIFE project) at the Department of Food Science and Technology.
On the first day, Giovanni Molari (Rector of the University of Bologna) and Antonio Frattarelli (Italian Ministry of Agriculture) will welcome participants, and two experts from the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Agriculture and Rural Development and Directorate-General for Climate Action will give keynote presentations. After that, several LIFE and non-LIFE projects working on agroecosystems and sustainability, including LIFE DESERT ADAPT, LIFE Co-Clima and LIFE ACLIMA, will have the opportunity to exchange views during panels and presentations given by project partners.
In the afternoon, field visits to two pilot sites for the IMAGE-LIFE project will take place: Bio Sant’Anna, organic dairy company specialized in organic Parmigiano Reggiano, and Ozzano Centre, managed by the Department of Veterinary Medical Science of the University of Bologna and equipped for experimentation in all aspects related to cattles’ health and welfare.
The second day will be dedicated to other panels and workshops about various topics, such as agroecosystems’ resilience to climate change, sustainability standards’ streamlining, and green innovation in agriculture as a way to boost competitiveness.
LIFE GRACE embraces the opportunity to engage with a variety of Italian and international projects contributing to make agriculture and farming greener. As a project, we will bring our experience in the conservation of pastures, an important carbon dioxide sink, and in supporting small extensive farms that produce sustainable grass-fed meat.
